BOLD ADVENTURES
Big adventures. New experiences. No limits.
Who wants to fly down a zip wire, travel across a lake, have a go at archery, party around a campfire or explore somewhere completely new?
Bold Adventures is all about creating exciting, inclusive opportunities for children, young people and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) to experience the thrill of adventure, discover new environments, challenge themselves and make unforgettable memories.
Bold Adventures is about so much more than the activities themselves.
It is about trying something new, making choices, building confidence, working as part of a team and sharing experiences with friends. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience that excitement, with activities creatively adapted and the right support in place so every Bold Viber can participate in their own way.
For many families, going away together is anything but straightforward.
Finding accessible accommodation, sourcing specialist equipment, arranging appropriate support and navigating the practicalities of travel can make even a short break feel out of reach.
Bold Adventures aims to break down those barriers, bringing Bold Vibers, their families and carers together for an annual inclusive residential packed with adventure, friendship, laughter and new experiences.
Because everyone deserves a little adventure, and some of the boldest moments happen when we discover just how much is possible.
BOLD ADVENTURES – ADVENTURE BELONGS TO EVERYONE.

THE BIG BOLD WEEKEND
We are planning something BIG!
The Big Bold Weekend will be a two night accessible adventure weekend for Bold Vibers and their families/carers at Ghyll Head Outdoor Education and Activity Centre, in the heart of the Lake District National Park.
The weekend will run from Friday 4th June to Sunday 6th June 2027, arriving from 4pm on Friday and heading home after lunch at around 1pm on Sunday.
Ghyll Head provides inclusive outdoor adventure experiences, with activities adapted to enable people with a wide range of disabilities and support needs to take part.
What will the weekend look like?
Friday: Arrive from 4pm, settle into your accommodation, evening meal at approximately 5.30pm followed by our first campfire.
Saturday: A full day of adventure! Bold Vibers and their families will be divided into groups and rotate through activities. Activities are expected to include experiences such as canoeing/lake activities, zip wire and climbing, alongside other activities selected according to the needs and suitability of the group. Activities will be adapted so that everyone has the opportunity to participate in a way that works for them. We will finish the day around another campfire.
Sunday: Breakfast, a final activity, packed lunch and then it is time to start making your way home from around 1pm.
All accommodation, activities and meals are included (including breakfast, packed lunches and evening meals).
About this Expression of Interest.
We want The Big Bold Weekend to be accessible to as many Bold Vibes families as possible however, accommodation, accessible rooms and specialist equipment at Ghyll Head are limited.
This form will help us understand who would like to attend and the minimum facilities, equipment and support each person would need to stay safely for two nights.
Please tell us what is genuinely needed rather than everything you might ideally use at home. For example, someone may normally use several pieces of equipment but only require a shower chair and accessible bedroom for a short stay.
We will do everything we possibly can to accommodate all needs.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by noon on the 28th October 2026.
We may contact you by email if we need to clarify anything you have told us before places are allocated.
You can find out more about Ghyll Head on their website.
BOLD VIBES
TRAVEL SUPPORT
We want everyone to be able to join in with our BOLD VIBES community and we know that sometimes the cost or practicalities of getting to an event can be a barrier. Where we can, BOLD VIBES can offer support towards travel costs to help you attend our regular meet-ups.
We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, so please do not hesitate or feel uncomfortable about getting in touch. All requests will be treated sensitively, confidentially and in line with our data protection policy. Simply contact us at hello@boldvibes.co.uk or via the button below and we can have a chat about how we may be able to help.
We want all Bold Vibers' journeys to be as accessible as the events they are attending.
